Art shaped by nature, colour and emotion.
Andri Iona creates expressive ceramic sculptures and paintings inspired by organic forms, movement, texture and the hidden stories found in nature.
A few words about Andri Iona
Clay becomes a language.
Andri Iona is a Cypriot visual artist whose practice is rooted in the mystery, richness and diversity of nature.
She completed her studies at UAL Camberwell in London and has worked from her own art atelier since 2000. Her work has been presented in solo exhibitions at K Gallery in Nicosia and Gallery Kypriaki Gonia in Larnaca, as well as in group exhibitions in Cyprus, London, Scotland, Athens, Malta and Sicily. Her practice has also been featured in Art Reveal Magazine and Collect Art.
Working mainly with stoneware clay, Andri uses the material as a bridge between her creative process and the diverse power of nature. Each sculpture is a search for harmony between shape, form and equilibrium — a physical and emotional dialogue with the material.
Her art expresses inner needs, sensitivities, contradictions and the joys and anxieties of life, birth and evolution. The forms may recall tree trunks, the sea floor or human bodies. By blending human and natural forms, every creation becomes an inner rebirth and a step toward reconciliation between soul, body and nature.
